Architect Notes
Square Roots is an urban indoor farming company growing local, real food while training the next generation of leaders in agriculture through its unique Farmer Training Program. Built from shipping containers, Square Roots' distributed network of modular farms are able to recreate ideal growing conditions from around the world - without pesticides or GMOs. Through a new partnership with Gordon Food Service, Square Roots will be constructing new farm campuses adjacent to or on their existing distribution centers across North America. This will dramatically reduce the amount of energy needed to move food from farm-to-table, as each load of greens leaves the farm and enters the supply chain in a matter of feet, not miles.
