  • Amid the softly rolling hills of Southwestern Michigan rests a comfortable - though nondescript - family homestead. The farmhouse is situated at the top of a small hill, yet extra-small windows limit any meaningful connection with the quiet surroundings. Numerous phased upgrades are planned for the years ahead, beginning with the introduction of a three-season porch stretching outward from the master suite. A large soaking tub will be framed by oversized corner windows, allowing each day to start and end fully immersed in the wildflowers that encircle the home.

Just a short walk downhill, a new clay tennis court will be nestled into an existing clearing in the woods. Thanks to extensive historical research by the homeowner, a clear has emerged of how the land has changed over time. Extensive remediation of the Beech-Sugar Maple woods and natural savanna will begin right after the spring thaw, paired with careful stewardship of an heirloom apple orchard that found at the edge of the cultivated fields.
