The “Coastal Couple” presents two new custom townhomes with matching floor plans, but a very different exterior character. They’re buddies, not twins, offering of family getaways on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Each level includes a unique outdoor living space, with a ground floor plunge pool screened by thick saw palmetto, an outdoor grill deck and dining room adjacent to the kitchen, and a fourth-level rooftop terrace for soaking up those unbelievable 30A sunsets.
Situated at the south edge of a new pocket park - across from two multi-family buildings designed by Via Chicago - two lots had previously been reserved for “spec homes” that faced the opposite way, and would’ve completely turned their back on this new neighborhood amenity. Our client came to Via Chicago asking that we find a clever way to replat the land to accommodate three new homes, to be reconceived as an architectural bookend to the work happening across the street.
